Solving the Afforestation Problem,m will be discussed. The first system has been implemented in a main frame while the second one has been implemented in a PC-environment. A central element in the problem solving process is the simulated annealing algorithm. The implemented heuristic am proaches will be described. Finally, our numerical experiences will be shortly reported.
