https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-658-12091-7y of this phenomenon is carried out by means of radio-echo sounding (RES) and reflection seismic. In total, 3250 km of RES profiles and 194 seismic measurements have been made. These scientific works resulted in mapping the ice thickness, bedrock and sub-ice topography and the Lake Vostok shoreline.

Identifying Major Sedimentary Basins Beneath the West Antarctic Ice Sheet from Aeromagnetic Data Anan the Interior Ross Embayment, no similar large basins have been identified to date. We have used aerogravity and Werner deconvolution methods applied to aeromagnetic data to map depth to magnetic basement, which helped delineate three major sedimentary basins, the Bentley Subglacial, Onset, and Trunk D Basins.
