Anuran Acoustic Signal Perception in Noisy Environmentswe describe the frog’s cocktail party problem in functional terms relevant to frog reproduction and communication. We then describe results from experimental studies, mostly of behavior, that elucidate how the frog auditory system goes about solving problems related to auditory masking and auditory scene analysis.

Noise in Chemical Communicationvers. We will also discuss variation in chemical cues and signals that may provide information in some contexts, but obscure messages in others. Finally, we attempt to identify strategies that senders and receivers can follow to either reduce the occurrence or mitigate the effects of noise.
