A Study on the Stability of Americium(V) and Americium(VI) in Nitrate Mediaperatures, but the reduction was effectively inhibited by the presence of ozone gas or fluoride ions. On the other hand, .Am(V) and .Am(VI) were found to be rather stable in nitric acids. But, they were readily reduced to Am(III) in the phosphate solutions in the same manner as .Am(V) and .Am(VI).
