Chemisch-Technische Vorschriftenbetween the number of substitutions on both cation and anion sites. This may imply that instead of the Cl/F-ratio, the number of substitutions on the cation site is directly responsible for the different thermal stabilities of fission tracks in different apatites.

The model extrapolations are consistent with these constraints, suggesting that the revised kinetics work well, within the limitations of current knowledge. This supports the future use of the zircon fission track system for geological thermal history analysis.
