As in the previous editions, the approach and treatment emphasises the importance of good program structure and style. This is reinforced by the authors‘ own system of ‘style scoring‘ used for many of the program examples. All the basic features of C are covered in the first seven chapters. More advanced features are dealt with in chapters 8-10, while chapter 11 offers guidance on program style.
