Photoluminescence of Dielectric Waveguides,nd the near-infrared luminescence processes realized in ion-implanted/irradiated waveguides based on rare-earth-doped crystals and glasses are summarized in Sects.?. and ., respectively. Lasing Based on Dielectric Waveguides,d waveguide lasers based on 2D materials that is growing rapidly. In Sect.?., a specific branch of self-frequency doubled waveguide lasing is introduced, which combines the lasers and nonlinear optics.
